Athens Fellowship Update | New Carpet For The New Nursery

Carpet in Nursery

My family and I have now been in place for about three and a half months with a church re-start in Athens, Ohio.  It has been an exciting time and also a very stressful time.

We are excited about what God will do through this ministry to impact the community and we feel the pressure to grow quickly so that we can sustain a salary and money for ministry.  Yet we are patient and confident that God is at work and all things will come to pass in his perfect time.

Over the past few months we have begun to identify opportunities for improvement with the facilities the church owns.  In the first month we opened up the foyer and gave it a fresh coat of paint (pictures to follow in a future update).  Now our focus is creating a nursery.

As you can see in the picture above we are having carpet installed for a room that will become a nursery.  The church currently has no space for babies, toddlers, elementary children, or teenagers.  In an effort to improve our opportunities for ministry  we moved the church office into a smaller room across the hall and moved the pastor’s office to the building across the parking lot where the parsonage sits over top of the fellowship hall, so that we could use the larger room to house our babies and toddlers in the short term.

The room that you see above will be divided so that babies are on one side and toddler age children are on the other side.  The room has a separate entrance for each side.  The future plans include turning the room at the end of the hallway into another nursery room.  It is about the same size room.

This room renovation was made possible by a generous gift from our ministry partners with the Teays Valley Church of God.
