I don’t know a single person who hasn’t felt that way at some point in their life. You invest your time and energy only to have your efforts overlooked. Everyone around you seemed to miss all of your hard work and life just moved on. Perhaps this happens on a regular basis in your home, on the job, or around your church. I want my children to learn how to give without receiving anything in return. This will only happen if they see it modeled in the people around them. In particularly their mom and dad.
I find it humbling to hear that this particular plight in life is “the cure for the disease of self-centeredness and the antidote to pride.”

I hear her saying that it is still worthwhile to do your best, do what you love, and be who God made you to be–no matter who gets the credit. Do it especially well when you don’t get the credit. Afterall it’s the Lord that deserves it anyway. –Richard
