There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
– Galatians 3:28-29 (NIV)
There is much talk in our culture right now about equity and equality. The only place we are equal is in our need for redemption. At the foot of the cross, everyone is equal. Meaning, we all stand condemned of sin. No one has kept the law of God. None of us have lived perfectly. We are all sinners in need of a savior.
Holy justice would get everyone of us what we deserve—an eternity of separation from God. This is defined as hell in the pages of Scripture. Grace and love extended to us an escape into another eternal existence—an eternity with God. This is described as heaven in the Scriptures. This invitation is not based on ethnicity, skin color, gender, social status, or any other metric. The only separation that genuinely matters for all of humanity is whether you have chosen to accept and follow Jesus, or not. It is the only delineation with eternal consequences.
