Our God is a BIG God, and we are by all measures, SMALL people. He is the creator and we are the creation.
He is the one that spoke something from nothing at the beginning of time. He is the one that holds the complexity of the universe in perfect balance. He is the one that parted the Red Sea, brought down the walls of Jericho, and raised Jesus from the grave.
Why is that we walk around in despair? Why do we concede our circumstances to the enemy?
Let me be clear before I make the next few statements, God is not a genie in a bottle. He does not exist for your pleasure nor is He bound to give you everything that you ask for. He is however, able to move mountains in your life. As you strive to honor God, carry out the Great Commission, and love your neighbor, there is no adversary or set of circumstances that will thwart the plans of God.
Our problem is that we believe we should not suffer. When trouble comes, we want it gone. But difficulty is sometimes part of the journey. Most importantly in our circumstances, and what we cannot see or understand, is what God is doing all around us, and even in us. Most of the time we are so focused on what we want God to do for US, that we can’t conceive of anything more important—anything bigger.
Even when we let our imagination run wild; even when we think we are giving all that we can give; even when great things are happening, we have no idea how much God wants to do in us and through us. Let me challenge you to prove this passage of Scripture true or false. I challenge you to decide to give yourself to fully following God, as much as you know how, and see what mountains can be moved.
