Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?”

We live at a time where our nation is in turmoil. We are divided among many fronts, and I am convinced there are those in power that like it this way. These folks are able to maintain their position atop their chosen demographic and they are able to profit obscenely by their position. But that is a discussion for another day.
To the Church. To the follower of Christ. You are to be sanctified—to be set a part. You are to be a light in the darkness. Salt to a barren land. Your faith should provoke criticism from the worldly, no matter their chosen camp, because you live in a land that is not home.
What is it that will distinguish you from the World? What will cause others to take notice? It is as Moses said, when God goes with you, you shall be different. Everyone will notice.
How is it that you want to be noticed? Do you want to be bigger, faster, stronger? Fame or fortune? Power or position?
As a Christ follower, the desire of our hearts should be that we draw near to God and that He draws near to us. This alone will define who we are. This will cause others to take notice. Why? Because we will become something different—we will not have the same values as the World. A close relationship with God changes us.
