When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord.
– Exodus 34:29 (NIV)
Moses’ experience is not much different than the experience of believers today. While the way God reveals Himself is different, it is obvious to others when we have spent time with God, even if we ourselves are unaware that God has left an impression.
I have a friend who is new in her faith. She worries that she is not growing fast enough and worries that something is wrong because she still struggles with the stuff of life. But when you are around her, she has changed. She smiles more, her priorities have changed, and she is hungry for the things of God. While it is hard for her to see, those around her can see that something has changed. She has changed and is changing as she spends time with God.
When you give time to God and you spend time in His presence, your circumstances may not immediately change, but there will be evidence of an encounter. He will leave an impression on your life that others will notice.
