We live at a time in American history where there are forces within our society that are dedicated to silencing and removing the Christian voice from the public arena. They want to relegate the Christian life to one of private pursuit. But this is not the most concerning attack on the Christian faith. The worst attack, in my opinion, is coming from inside the Church and working its way out.
There are so many people, churches, and movements that have attached themselves to the idea of Christianity or the person of Jesus that have only corrupted and/or prostituted the gospel message. Many in the church have followed after articulate speakers that deny the deity of Christ or the sovereignty of God.
There is no Christian message apart from Christ, the cross, and the resurrection. Any message that labels itself Christian and leads with or emphasizes anything else, has gone astray, and we would be wise to dismiss the message and the messenger.
